national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> 6 days left until the presidential election, and candidate greco struggling to make up for lost time in the wake of hurricane sandy. >> mitt romney will campaign one day after holding a an event in ohio. president obama will be joined by republican governor chris christie to look at damage in new jersey. >> i do not give a about election day. it does not matter to me. at the moment i had bigger fish to fry. >> he has been a harsh critic of president obama but is praising him for his response to the strong thus far. >> the d.c. board of elections says voters can cast ballots at eight early voting centers across the city, open from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. today through saturday.

the board said they have added extra machines at each location. the voters can go to any early voting location if the lines are too long. >> governor martin o'malley and lt. governor martin -- anthony brown are casting ballots. early hour voting -- early voting hours have been extended. the deadline for absentee ballots has been moved until 8:00 p.m. tonight. >> as we had to break -- a look at how hurricane sandy victims are making the best of the difficult situation. this is a building in hoboken new jersey, where only one electrical outlet is working. residents have attached a power strip and everybody has plugged in their laptops and cell phones .

coming down. warnings remain in effect for much of the metro area. adam caskey is in the field this morning for more on that coming up in the next hour of the show. rainfall totals -- reedville virginia just about 10 inches. la plata, 8 inches. ocean city, 7 inches. it is the 5 to 10 no. we were talking about. here are temperatures -- 43 at reagan national. culpeper at 41. 37 degrees in winchester. the clouds just do not want to budge. we -- they will stick around through the day. we will get some sun peeking through tomorrow. as we approach the weekend things will look a lot better.

that's now will last throughout much of -- that snow last much of the week in west virginia. high temperature is 62 -- 52 to 56 degrees, well below average by 10 degrees. let's check on the roads and see how things are going. are they getting back to normal? >> we are trying. crews are working diligently since the storm arrived. georgetown pike, they are trying to restrain wires that came down. georgetown pike, old dominion drive, is close to each direction. roads in fairfax and loudoun county are closed because of standing water. the beltway add 395 -- no problems. across the 14th street bridge checks out fine for everyone. a portion of little falls parkway and beach drive is
